My New York City: Closer to Nature in Central Park

Hi everyone!
Today my heart was begging me to share some of my memories of Central Park, NYC and that's what I'm going to do! ;)
Central Park is one of the biggest parks in the world and it's amazing that it's situated right in the middle of the  "Capital of the World", not some other city, because of its huge territory.
Central Park, which has been a National Historic Landmark since 1963, was designed by landscape designer and writer Frederick Law Olmsted and the English architect Calvert Vaux in 1858 after winning a design competition.

The park, which receives approximately 35 million visitors annually, is the most visited urban park in the United States. It was opened on 3.1 km2 of city-owned land and was expanded to 3.41 km2.
It is 4 km long between 59th Street (Central Park South) and 110th Street (Central Park North), and is 0.8 km wide between 5th Avenue and Central Park West.
It is similar in size to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, Vancouver's Stanley Park, and Munich's Englischer Garten.
There are so many things you can do: from just jogging and playing sports (volleyball, baseball, tennis, etc.) to ice skating in winter and even boating! If you've nothing to do, or just want to relax - that's where you should go!

It's the place for everyone: from carousels and playgrounds for little kids; fields, courts and concert areas for adults; and theater and restaurants for older people!
