Kylie - Creative Ambassador For Sydney New Year’s Eve!

Kylie is coming to Sydney for 2012 NEW YEARS EVE!!!

"So many things are happening for my 25th anniversary in music, but I can't think of a better finale for the K25 year than to be in Australia for the Sydney NYE celebrations. I'm a very proud Australian, so coming home to host Sydney New Year's Eve is a dream come true. No matter where I am in the world, I always watch Sydney New Year's Eve fireworks and even though I'm from Melbourne I could not miss this opportunity to celebrate 25 years of performing at the New Year's Eve Capital of the World!"

Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP announced that Kylie Minogue has been appointed the City’s Creative Ambassador for the 2012 Sydney New Year’s Eve event.

*December Update*
Kylie Minogue is calling on Sydneysiders to use their mobile phones to get in on the action this New Year's Eve. The event's creative ambassador for 2012, has unveiled a plan for one million Sydneysiders to create an interactive colored light show. People who download a Telstra smartphone app can hold their phones up by the harbour side as the clock ticks closer to midnight on December 31st. The sea of phones will flash in sync, turning the foreshore magenta, yellow, purple and blue.

*****
According to the agency Kylie's distinctive style and energy will play a key role in the celebrations.
General Manager of Imagination, Heath Campanaro, said the singer would work closely with the Imagination team on all creative elements of the event. “We know Kylie will inject her own special brand of sparkle to Sydney, the New Year's Eve capital of the world,” he said. “The event brings to the table all her many talents as a singer, performer and designer.”

Kylie will be instrumental in the creative execution of the three official City of Sydney parties, two fireworks display themes and the musical soundtrack, in conjunction with producer Josh Abrahams and Davide Carbone.

*August UPDATE*:

The Creative Concept for 2012 Sydney New Year's Eve: Embrace

"Embrace" reflects a positive attitude of openness and connection. It is about acceptance and tolerance, the past and the future, warmth and love. It is the bringing together of elements, where each is influenced by the other, yet all still retain their individuality and integrity.
In a city of great diversity, we come together at NYE to embrace the future in a unified celebration of all that we are and the potential that tomorrow holds for every one of us.

Whether it's embracing new ideas, change and opportunities or just giving a big hug to our family and friends, it's an inclusive theme that everyone can get involved in. From this overarching theme stems four subthemes, each representing a facet of the grander design. Locals and visitors to the city on New Year's Eve are encouraged to Embrace Love, Embrace the Moment, Embrace the Possibility and Embrace Sydney as part of their celebrations. These subthemes reflect the positive spirit of the New Year, the opportunities that the future holds for everyone, as well as the warmth and generosity of Sydney's people.

#K25 March Surprise - I Don't Need Anyone!

Yes!!!
This was many peeps' guess - the March #K25 surprise is I Don't Need Anyone rehearsal footage!!!

After 12 minutes trying to get through to Kylie and the team that Tweet To Unlock is not working we finally got it and kylie.com/tweettounlock started to work :) Almost all of us agreed to "hashtag" the names of the songs and we had no idea if that's what we needed to do until at 7.12 p.m. UK time the kylie.com page started to work :)
At first many of the tweeps were tweeting many different guesses, but that didn't last long, cause just in a little while we figured it was I Don't Need Anyone and started spreading the word! ;)
After 30 minutes tweeting we made it into the Worldwide trends for the first time tonight "debuting" at #4 ;) But just in 6 minutes we made it all the way to the top and are still remaining there as I blog :D (already 30 minutes!) We also made it to the top of the UK trend ;)

For some reason Kylie wasn't with us tonight, but that didn't make us stop, cause I guess we all were very excited about the exclusive rehearsal footage Kylie team had for us :)

Anyway, new records broken tonight! The #IDontNeedAnyone was trending #2 in USA&San Francisco and #1 in New York&Los Angeles!!

It also was #1 trending topic in Canada!

And Kylie came back to tell us how amazing we were ;)

Anyway, it was fun and video looks very energetic and full of excitement, so I'm off to watch it again! ;)

My New York City: 50 Reasons To Love NYC!

I just LOVE this one! Most of the reasons are SO true&I personally have done many of them (like the coffee or train one). P.S. And the "smart people" one is very true no matter what you've heard about America in general before - NYC is a whole other country inside the country!

Enjoy the countdown! ;)

50. Sending your laundry out for someone else to wash and dry it is not only convenient, it's just good business. Especially since you will probably never own a washer and dryer. Which means you never have to feel guilty about not doing your own laundry. Next.

49. Drinking coffee four times a day, every day, isn't the exception, it's the rule. (And I do NOT drink coffee anywhere else at all!)

48. The secret Chick Fil-A at the NYU dining hall.

47. There is always someone crazier than you. ALWAYS.

46. The view from the Brooklyn Bridge.

45. The view of the Brooklyn Bridge.

44. Manhattan-Brooklyn/Brooklyn-Manhattan wars never cease to entertain.

43. Bored to Death. 30 Rock. SNL. And a million other things that film here and we love. RIP Law and Order.

42. The epic feeling you get running to catch a train and succeeding...just before the doors close.

41. We get the inside jokes. Because, actually, we made them up in the first place.

40. That horrified look on our parents' friends' faces when we tell them we live in "Hell's Kitchen."

39. Sure, we work out next to Alec Baldwin, Padma Lakshmi, and Bridget Moynahan, and walk the streets with Willem Dafoe, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Tina Fey, but, really, we're kinda too busy with our own lives to notice.

38. Drinking is like breathing. Or slightly more acceptable.

37. Because it's not enough to just love New York. New York needs to love you back, too. Hey, we have high standards.

36. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, there is someone who will bring it to you for a price, which may or may not be negotiable. (Or legal.)

35. By the time the rest of the nation has bedbugs, we'll have figured out how to get rid of them. In the meantime, we'll mock them by dressing our dogs up as bedbugs for Halloween. Laugh in the face of fear, New Yorker!

34. There are almost 200 bars in the East Village alone.

33. There's no shortage of stupid rich people to make fun of.

32. The endless delights of the New York Post.

31. You don't even need a passport, or a license, to partake in goat-eyeball tacos.

30. The fact that one-bedroom apartments cost an average minimum of a half-million dollars means we think nothing of spending $12 on lunch.

29. Restaurants are as common as single men and women. And equally diverse. And you never have to see either of them again after the initial awkward encounter. (see the pic ;) )

28. The omnipresent opportunity to Gaga-ify yourself. And the chance that it will seem, just, normal.

27. Runnin' Scared lives here! (And so does the Village Voice.)

26. Smart people are the norm, not the exception. (Which doesn't mean they're sane, but at least no one's boring.)

25. Except in select 'hoods like Park Slope and perhaps the Upper West Side, children are viewed as mysterious beings, rarely sighted and only occasionally understood, like pixies or magical small butlers. Until they scream, in which case, they are banished from the palace.

24. When you fly back into the city after a vacation or business trip, no matter how long you've lived here, you get that butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling. (oh yes!)

23. Efficiency in a drugstore checkout line.

22. How easy it is to find doughnuts, pizza, Chinese food, or any other snack your drunken self desires at 4 a.m. Or to continue to drink. Responsibly!

21. Broadway. Museums. CULTCH-AH. Even if you never actually go to see anything (though you should, at least once).

20. Yelling "f*ck" is just a mild obscenity.

19. There's no shame in sticking your fingers in your ears like a weirdo when an ambulance goes by screeching.

18. Summer concerts at the Williamsburg Waterfront.

17. So many Missed Connections, so little time.

16. Other places have dog and cat people. We have ferret people.

15. The splendor of the Union Square Greenmarket.

14. A bagel with cream cheese and lox from Russ and Daughters.

13. There is an insane Korean day spa (Spa Castle) waiting for you in Flushing. And Russian and Turkish baths in the East Village.

12. One of our bars has 100-year-old urinals.

11. Complain about the MTA, but you can get anywhere in the city for just $2.50 single ride. Still pretty damn cheap.

10. Subway rage. Bike-lane rage. Walking rage. Random rage. These are our therapy. Although we all go to therapy, too. No judgments!

9. Subway "prewalking," in which you walk to the exact right spot on the platform to board the train car that will save you the most time upon exit, exists and has a name. Gotta respect.

8. The free Ikea ferry to Red Hook on weekends! Plus, Red Hook in general.

7.  Jaywalking is an art form.

6. You can be alone, but never feel lonely. And vice versa (but if you die and aren't found until a year later, you won't be the first).

5. We are, as a group, anti-fanny-pack as much as we are pro-gay-marriage. Hetero marriage, on the other hand, we can pretty much take or leave.

4. 35 is the new 26. Or is it 45? Whatever, age ain't nothing but a number, and as long as you're younger than your IQ score, no harm, no foul.

3. Finding your "local" is that much better here.

2. There is absolutely no reason to ever drink and drive. Added bonus: Spontaneous, fascinating conversations with cab drivers.

1. If you can make it here, you really can make it anywhere. But why would you bother to go anywhere else?

I L♥VE NYC!!!

Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan Reunion - To Be Or Not To Be?

*Update December*

The Official Charts have confirmed that Kylie and Jason duet WILL finally become true at the re-scheduled Hit Factory Live on December 21st!

Video, pictures and more from the show --> HERE! :)

*****

*Update October*

Hit Factory Live is now scheduled for December 21st
In recent interview with Yahoo Omg UK, Kylie said  "You know what, I feel like I have to do this. People are getting more and more desperate. They're like 'please, for the love of God can you just do it because we need it out of our system'...
So I hope it happens. That's a really long way around of not answering a question. I hope it happens. I just can't say it's a yes at the moment."

*Update July*
It seemed like a dream... and as of today, one day before it could've happened, it still IS a dream...
Hyde Park's event scheduled for July, 11th was CANCELLED due to weather conditions...
I truly feel for people who bought tickets and were waiting for this event to happen since March, especially for those who too time off work and made travel plans only to see this event and Kylie&Jason reunion!

Following the severe and unprecedented weather conditions across the country the site was declared unfit this morning to host the concert. The decision was made following full consultation with all of the relevant authorities and the safety advisory group.

Kylie says "I am so sorry to hear that the concert tomorrow had to be cancelled. I feel for all the fans who had bought tickets to this special event. Jason and I were rehearsed and excited to share this moment with everyone."

Only yesterday, Kylie tweeted the happy picture from rehearsals, all happy and looking forward to this event.

Ok, so rumour has it that Kylie and Jason are set to sing their 1989 #1 hit Especially For You at a concert in London's Hyde Park on July 11.
Well, rumours go back and forth: some confirming and some denying - so I guess all we can do is sit and wait until the official statement from PWL or Kylie Team :)

We all realize it actually might happen, cause it's PWL and it's Kylie! Meanwhile, some fans are already buying tickets hoping to get to see Kylie once again this such special year - #K25 celebration year! (*takes a break from writing to watch All The Lovers video that just came on Enter Music Channel* :D...) To be honest I think if I were living in the UK, I'd do the same ;)

This little Hit Factory Live announcement has a little hint telling us about a "very special duet - 23 years in the making" - that's exactly how old Especially For You is turning this year ;)

So, enjoy the gossips for now! :D

2. The Mercury
3. Even Perez Hilton posted an article about it today
