Kylie Minogue's New Album Teaser-Track SKIRT Released (by Nom De Strip)

Hello everyone!
Today's a very special day for Kylie fans, because it's Kylie Minogue's Birthday!
So, first of all - Happy Birthday Kylie! :)

Even though it is a "Kylie holiday", she is not holiday'ing - instead, our girl is back in the studio after Cannes 2013 and her busy schedule! (via Instagram:)

And did we get a surprise today: as it was reported before, miss Kylie Minogue has been working on her new album (due to be released this year) with many talented people, and Los Angeles based producer Nom De Strip was amongst them. So, Chris Lake dropped a dub version of a song this morning on Twitter via Nom De Strip soundcloud page, called "Skirt", which was co-written with The Dream. It appeared after the song was played at Pacha Ibiza.

The goal every producer wants to reach by the song? - Make it stuck in people's head, I guess..
Well, mission complete - whether you like it or not - admit, this song doesn't leave your head for a loooong time after you listen to it - that is a warning! ;)

In any case, the song might be just a "preview" to what's yet to come, but also might not represent the #KM2013 era at all, so our advice to everyone - keep calm, enjoy the song and wait for it... wait for it... wait for it.... ;)

And here it is - a NEW lyric video for SKIRT <-- here!

*Update*
You can now get the Skirt Remixes LP! ;)

Happy Birthday Kylie - Special Birthday Video Surprise From Fans!

"May 28th - does it say anything to you? I bet it does!
This time, we'd like to make a little surprise present for the lady."
- were the words we started out campaign with ;)

Nicola and I have been nurturing the "Birthday Surprise" idea since November last year, trying to come up with something Kylie fans would join us in doing, something we'd be excited to do and something Kylie and us could enjoy and remember. This is when the "Kylie Birthday Video" came to our minds.
But we didn't want to make "just a video", it had to have the uniqueness - so this is when we came up with the plan to write Birthday wishes out of Kylie song lyrics - which by the way means I've already said too much before even revealing the video ;)

It took us some time to have the vision of what and how we were going to put and where it belonged in a video... We also created the poll on this blog to let YOU peeps choose the songs YOU wanted to hear in this video, and thanks (again! ;) to the amazing Matt Segnini for creating the incredible mix of the top voted songs to accompany the picture :)

"All I can say for the moment:
it is going to be a video,
it is going to have lyrics from different Kylie songs,
it is going to have your favorite and voted for music in it and
it is going to include YOU!" -
we hope yo enjoy every part of the above! :D

I cannot reveal more than that until it's posted, but what I can say right NOW is that the video WILL BE UPLOADED at MIDNIGHT! ;)

Nicola and I would like to thank Kylie Brazil, Kylie World and Kylie Unlimited for their constant support and publicity, Matias Segnini - for making these projects even more exciting by making the exclusive music, and for his work in general (check out his works here), Lovers, Timebombers and simply Kylie Fans for making these projects happen, wanting to participate and your big loving hearts that want to express it all this kind of way, and of course, our Birthday girl, Kylie Minogue, for EVERYTHING!

*UPDATE*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLIE and ENJOY everyone!! ;)

Angelina Jolie After Double Mastectomy Procedure: "I hope that other women can benefit from my experience"

Angelina Jolie revealed she has had a double mastectomy to reduce "an 87 percent risk of breast cancer".
She opened up about her cancer fears writing in the New York Times.

"My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56", she shared, "... the truth is I carry a “faulty” gene, BRCA1, which sharply increases my risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer... Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."

She added that her plans to reveal the news publicly was to help other women discover what options are available to them: "I am writing about it now because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience. Cancer is still a word that strikes fear into people’s hearts, producing a deep sense of powerlessness. But today it is possible to find out through a blood test whether you are highly susceptible to breast and ovarian cancer, and then take action."

Jolie encourages women under risk around the world to not be afraid: "I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer... It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was... I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity."

The actress also talks about her partner, Brad Pitt's support during the process and how helpful it is to get through it faster: "I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."

You can read the whole article in New York Times.

Special thank you's to Angelina for bravery to share this,
Stay healthy,

Kylie Minogue's NYC Spring 2013 Adventures: D&G Boutique Opening, The Great Gatsby Screening, The MET Gala & More

The time has come that Kylie Minogue finally left LA (where she's constantly been working on her new album due to be released this year) and visited NYC ;)
And as usual, the Goddess has had many things planned and busy social (mostly) nights during her Big Apple stay as well, appearing at THREE event in THREE days already!

It all started with the new Dolce & Gabbana Flagship Boutique Opening on Fifth Avenue, the Sicilian theme party on May 4th, 2013, where Kylie wore D&G designed green-striped dress accompanied by beautiful and unique earrings. Our girl looked very happy posing with the designers and tweeting pictures :)

On May 5th, Kylie was at the The Great Gatsby screening at MOMA, experimenting with her style when she wore the D&G floral 2-piece and her hair simply down, still looking fantastic:

BUT before that, Kylie was one little pink tease "winking" at everyone on her way to lunch in this Moschino dress:

Last night, on May 6th, 2013 the Princess attended Fashion's biggest red carpet of the year - The MET Gala - an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. This year's theme for the event was "Punk: Chaos to Couture". Kylie looked absolutely gorgeous in a black-and-white strapless Mochino dress, her hair made to one side, wearing pin-decorated golden earrings and dark (but just perfect!) make-up:

Red Carpet video:

Before miss Minogue arrived, she was photographed going to her car in another, pink satin dress:

I bet adventures are not over yet! ;)

Bryggen - Today's Sightseeing Heart Of Bergen, Norway

Bryggen is a series of Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the fjord coming into Bergen, Norway. Bryggen has since 1979 been on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites

The city of Bergen was founded in 1070. The area of the present Bryggen constitutes the oldest part of the city. Around 1360 a Kontor of the Hanseatic League was established there, now documented in a museum. As the town developed into an important trading center, the wharfs were improved. The buildings of Bryggen were gradually taken over by the Hanseatic merchants. The warehouses were filled with goods, particularly fish from northern Norway, and cereal from Europe.

Throughout history, Bergen has experienced many fires, since most houses were made from wood. This was also the case for Bryggen, and as of today, around a quarter dates back to the time after 1702, when the older wharf-side warehouses and administrative buildings burned down. The rest consists of younger structures, although there are some stone cellars that date back to the 15th century. Parts of Bryggen were destroyed in a fire in 1955. This area was used for the construction of Bryggen museum containing archeological remains and some old-style wooden houses (6 leftmost houses on the picture).

Today, Bryggen houses tourist, souvenir, and gift shops, in addition to restaurants, pubs and museums.

Kylie Minogue On A New Album: "This Year - I'm hoping sooner rather than later"

As we posted earlier, Kylie Minogue has been working full-speed on her new album in LA, after signing to Jay Z's RocNation earlier this year. She's working with many producers, from Pharrell and Stargate to Darkchild, Sia, GiTA, Chris Lake and many more.

Steve Baltin from the Rollingstone has a very interesting article with Kylie opening up a little about her upcoming album number 12 and the Courage Award she will be accepting at An Unforgettable Evening benefitting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund.

"It's been very interesting to be making an album primarily here – just the slight difference in the way people work," she says. "And it's a great new energy being with Roc Nation. It's a very exciting time."

Kylie is in a process of finding a new sound: "It's bringing out something different in me, which is cool," she says. "I need to know what it is to do something different – different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter. I think that I am a natural chameleon, so that floats my boat . . . I will maintain the DNA of what a Kylie track is, just because I'm on it. I like to try move the goalpost and experiment with different sounds. I can't tell you exactly what it is. I couldn't really describe it yet. But I can tell you I'm having a lot of fun in the process."

So when will people get to hear this new sound?
"That's the $64,000 question," she says. "This year – I'm hoping sooner rather than later. Is that vague enough?" (oh yes! ;)

One thing she is certain of is that she cannot wait to start playing this new material live. "There are definitely tracks where I sit in the studio and say, 'Just give me the audience and this will be magic,'" she says. "I'm desperate for that moment."

Kylie to be honored with the 2013 Courage Award for raising awareness for breast cancer. She will be on-stage in Beverly Hills tonight, though not as a performer.
"It's much more nerve-wracking to speak than to perform. Especially with a subject like this," she says. "I don't like to talk too much about my experience because it's super personal, but I do speak about it because it's important and it's not something you can give sound bites on. It's a profound, life-changing experience, and there are so many emotional levels and stories within that story it's hard to wrap up how you feel about it in a few nifty minutes."

The Courage Award is a lofty moniker, so much so that Minogue admits that caused her a moment of doubt as well. "It's so weighty that my initial response was I didn't know if I [deserve] this, because frankly you don't tend to think of yourself as being courageous when there are countless people who are more courageous each and every day than I'll ever be in my life," she says.

But after careful consideration she decided that the award was bigger than just her. "I realized in my story there was a lot of courage, and from the people around me as well – my parents, my brother and sister, the rest of my family, friends and from myself, of course," she says. "So I'm very honored to be presented with the award, and I can only accept on behalf of anyone who has been through or is going through this kind of ordeal, because you do have to dig deep."

She hopes to offer others battling cancer a glimmer of optimism. "I know when I was there, you look for any signs – big, small. You're just looking for any kind of hope that you can cling on to," she says. "What's important about nights like An Unforgettable Evening, where it's shrouded in glamour and fabulous people, is the funds that go to the real heroes who are doing the essential work, which then gives patients and their loved ones hope. And when you have hope, the courage that you need is made a little bit easier."
