Sherlock is a British television series that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson.
Sherlock creator Steven Moffat has hinted that the detective could die in this weekend’s series finale. The writer has refused to be drawn on whether a third series will be made, simply teasing: “If he survives.”
In an interview with DigitalSpy.co.uk, Moffat said of a potential third series: "If he survives... there's a whole bunch of details that have never been mentioned before in any film - stuff that we love".
Any third series would not emerge for some time, since Martin Freeman (Watson) is currently filming The Hobbit and Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) is about to shoot Star Trek 2.
Its first season was broadcasted in 2010 and now it's back on screens from January 2012... although not for long... it's only three 90-minute episode seasons and Season 2 finale is coming this Sunday! So, hurry up, you've still got time! ;)
