Oprah Winfrey - The Woman

"A good character is a real beauty that never fades"

Oprah Winfrey is going to be the third person I really adore and think is a very inspirational and very strong woman, an amazing example for millions in the world.
Oprah celebrates her 58th B'Day just few days ago (January, 29th - Happy B'Day, Oprah! :) ). She is best known for her self-titled, multi-award-winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was aired from 1986 to 2011. Oprah was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, claiming to be raped at age nine and becoming pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, she landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.
"Some of life's best lessons come from the hardest situations"

Oprah also publishes magazines: O and The Oprah Magazine. From 2004 to 2008, Oprah also published a magazine called O at Home. In 2002 Fortune called O, the Oprah Magazine the most successful start-up ever in the industry.

The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) debuted on January 1, 2011 in approximately 80 million homes, replacing the former Discovery Health Channel. Its programming includes a mix of original programs, strips, specials, original documentaries and acquired movies. Oprah announced that The Oprah Show would end on May 25, 2011, and that it would not continue on OWN thereafter. However, she hosts a new prime-time show on the channel called Oprah's Next Chapter two/three times a week. Winfrey has committed to appearing in a minimum of 70-hours per year on the network.

So, as Oprah says: "Impossible is just a word"! ;)

Oprah announces the end of The Oprah Show in 2011... very emotional, like never seen before!

Love Oprah!
