Kylie Minogue will be honored with the 2013 Courage Award next month for her public crusade against breast cancer.
The Entertainment Industry Foundation's (EIF) Women's Cancer Research Fund, which boasts Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg as honorary chairs, announced Kylie, a breast cancer survivor, will accept the 2013 Courage Award "for her fight against breast cancer and dedication to raising awareness for the disease".
The all-star event is titled An Unforgettable Evening and will be held at the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on May 2. It will be hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler while Grammy Award-winning singer Bruno Mars will perform.
The Nat King Cole Award will be presented to fashion designer Carolina Herrera for her charitable works and contributions to the EIF Women's Cancer Research Fund.
The event marks the 16th anniversary of the Women's Cancer Research Fund which continues to raise support for innovative cancer research. The fund supports innovative research, education and outreach directed at the development of more effective approaches to the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all women's cancers.(Source)
Later last year Kylie recorded a message for the "Stand Up To Cancer" telethon organized by Gwyneth Paltrow and Cancer Research UK which was aired on October 19th.
